17th annual Vespers for Week of Prayer for Christian Unity held at St. Pius
For the 17th year, Archbishop Cordileone and Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Gerasimos joined together in prayer during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Archbishop Cordileone led Solemn Vespers at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Redwood City and Metropolitan Gerasimos delivered the homily.

to celebrate their feast day
Concelebrating with the Archbishop was Pastor Fr. George Williams, Fr. Alejandro Báez and Fr. Brent Otto. The Mass, which was offered in Spanish, was followed by a fiesta with the parish community in the Ignatian Spiritual Life Center.

The respect life essay theme is "Life is a blessing," highlighting the life of Venerable Dr. Jerome Lejeune, a French geneticist who discovered that Down Syndrome and Trisomy-21 are linked to chromosomal abnormalities. This pro-life doctor was an outspoken advocate for the sacredness and dignity of every human life.
