For Men

Knights of Columbus

This fraternal men’s organization is composed of almost two million members in the United States and throughout the world. It generously supports the work of the Church and has special concern for the unborn. The Knights of Columbus at Saint Benedict meet on the third Thursday of the month at 7 pm in the Parish Center.  "COR"

The mission of Cor is to refocus Catholic men on Jesus Christ and to form and strengthen them in faith and virtue through a brotherhood committed to prayer, formation, and fraternity. The goal of each Cor gathering is to provide the opportunity for men to encounter Christ, to pray together, to be formed in their faith, and to strengthen their bonds of brotherhood, preparing them for courageous leadership and the mission of evangelization for their families and communities.  This group of men usually gathers on the Second and Fourth Thursday at 7:30pm in the Parish Center.   For more information, contact Tolley Gwinn at:  michael.tolley.gwinn@gmail.com or 757-272-7768.

That Man is You

All men are welcome to join in fellowship with other men of the parish to deepen your spiritual life, grow in your faith and your relationship with God, with your wife, family.  
"That Man Is You" (TMIY) meets for breakfast, fellowship, different Catholic Speakers and faith discussions each Saturday from 7:30AM-9AM this semester (Jan 6 - April 6) in St. Anselm Hall.  This year's topics focus around "The Fight of Faith" designed to inspire heroic lives of service to a calling greater than ourselves as well as to equip and enable men to engage in the cosmic, spiritual battle raging in our day.  Join us to uncover the ultimate truth that sheds light on all things and to Fight the good fight of faith to win an imperishable crown of glory. For Women

"Catechism in a Year" Listening Group

We are excited to invite all women of the parish to join us in reading the entire Catechism of the Catholic Church together using “The Catechism in a Year” podcast with Fr. Mike Schmitz. Following this podcast, our aim is to read the entire Catechism in 365 days, understand the essentials of the Catholic Faith and why they matter, and transform our relationship with the Church that Christ founded. Endow

Endow, a women's study group that meets once a month, beginning in September.   This year’s study will be St. Catherine of Siena: Setting the World Ablaze. We will meet the second Monday of each month in the Library in the St. Benedict Parish Center starting September 11th, and meetings will run 7 to 9 pm. Lilies of the Holy Trinity

The Lily of the Holy Trinity Women's Society invites all women of the Parish 18 years and older to join them for food, fun, fellowship and discussion of Parish Activities. They meet in the Dining Room of the Parish Center on the 2nd Sunday of each month. This local women’s organization seeks the spiritual growth of its members and supports the parish by organizing various activities. Moms Group

The Moms Group is a casual group of Catholic mothers who meet on Wednesday mornings and other days for playground play dates, outings, and activities hosted by Saint Benedict School. For more information, contact Mary-Kathryn Chapman (saintbenedictmomsgroup@gmail.com).

For Young Adults

Theology on Tap: Tuesday, April 2 at 6:00pm

Join us Tuesday, April 2 for a Theology on Tap talk "The Quest for a Moral Life" given by Deacon Kevin Hogan. Topics for this talk will include Discerning a Vocation, the Vocation of Marriage, Philosophy and Faith, and Community. Richmond Theology on Tap is held on the first Tuesday of each month (unless it falls on a holiday week.)

There are limited food options but outside food is allowed at the venue.
Doors open at 6 p.m. food & beverages need to be purchased by guests by 6:55 p.m.
Talks run 7 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and finish with a Q&A.
While Theology on Tap is traditionally a Catholic young adult event, we welcome people of all faith backgrounds to attend

Adoration & Ariana's: Thursday, April 11

Join us for Mass at 5:30pm, and Eucharistic Adoration and Confessions from  6:00pm-7:00pm.  We will leave from the outdoor St. Benedict statue by 7:10pm and walk to Ariana's for dinner. Into the Heights: Young Adult Lenten Reflection and Hike

Looking for a moment to pause and lean into your Catholic identity during the season of Lent?  Join young adults from across the diocese for a day of Lenten Reflection at the Trappist-Cistercian abbey in Crozet!  Talks will lead us “into the heights” of God’s love and be led by local speakers (including one of the nuns in residence). Lunch is included. After lunch, we will go “into the heights” by traveling to a local low- to medium-level hike.  Daily Mass will be celebrated, and we will join the nuns for the Liturgy of the Hours and Eucharistic Adoration. Married Couples Retreat

We invite married couples from throughout the Diocese of Richmond to participate in our Married Couples Retreat at Wintergreen Resort on April 19- 20, 2024.The retreat is open to all married couples. We’ll have talks, prayer, Mass, and plenty of time for couples to spend with each other in conversation and reflection. The last day to register is March 17.
