Hello Everyone!
What a fantastic Mother's Day message we had this Sunday from Monika! There were so many great parts of the message, but I appreciated most how Monika got vulnerable with us all and shared how she went through a hard time and that it was harder for her because she did not rely on and fall into her fellowship at SVC. Once she accepted who she is in Christ and how God looks at her and then pressed into her SVC relationships for support, she was able to face her challenges and the people working against her with Godly confidence and faith. Amen!
If you haven't had the chance to connect with people at SVC you are missing out on one of the best parts of our fellowship. God has stocked our church with some really wonderful people who will stand with you when you need them. How can you connect? It's easy! The best ways are to come out to something that is going on between the services. Men's breakfast this Saturday is a really easy one, and you get a good meal! We also have our Life Groups meeting evenings on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, along with another before service on Sunday morning. Everything in the Bible points to us being stronger when we are together, and vulnerable when we are alone.

THIS SUNDAY - What's next for Joseph? Well, now he's in prison - and it's for something he didn't even do! Joseph did the right thing but still wound up in another "pit". It seems like Joseph just can't catch a break. It's easy to wonder where God is in this story. Joseph certainly had to wonder at some point. But God was still with Joseph - even in the prison and we will see that he is one step closer to his ultimate destiny that God had planned for him as well as his impact on the nation of Egypt and the surrounding areas.
It's easier to see God in Joseph's story when we have the benefit of seeing it from beginning to end. But while we are in our pit sometimes we can wonder if God really is ALWAYS good. This week we will resume our look at Joseph and see how God uses him while in prison and that when we can trust that God sees our storyline from beginning to end, and when we have FAITH that God IS good all the time it can help us through our deepest pits.

Look for the Alexander Lounge at the Community Center and help us talk about it and understand better how this applies to real life!

Hey! Have you noticed the reading plans that have been on our outlines for this series? There is a short passage of scripture for each day that compliments what we are covering each week in the message. It only takes a few minutes to do.
Sharing in the joys and challenges of life with other people who care for us leads to a rich experience in our journey with God. We get to practice what God is teaching us with others who will listen, challenge, and nurture us. We get to practice new skills, use our talents and gifts, and serve people in our community with others who we know and trust. Life groups are great ways to connect with others in the church as well as a way to create a comfortable environment for you to invite friends who may not be comfortable yet with showing up on a Sunday morning. Great relationships make life better and richer! Check out one of our Life Groups for yourself and experience the difference relationships make.

Vineyard National Conference

Every two years, Vineyard USA hosts a national conference that everyone is invited to. This year the conference will be held in two locations, the closer of which is Dayton Ohio.
This years theme is Come Holy Spirit and will focus on the ministry of The Holy Spirit in the local church. If you are interested in going, please see Blandina Orce. Once we know how much interest there is and how many people want to go we will figure out how to pool our resources and set everything up.

THRIVE - Youth Ministry
Thrive is a group for junior and senior high students. An atmosphere where literally anybody and everybody can come and feel included, loved, and heard. The focus is on helping young people learn how to connect with Jesus in a deeper and more personal way. They regularly tackle some very tough topics that are current in our world today.

Oasis - Now Every Sunday Morning 9:00-9:45

The name is derived from Revelation 5:8, describing heavenly creatures which each had harps and held golden bowls full of incense (which are the prayers of the saints.) Harp and bowl, soaking Praise and Prayer in an intimate setting, finding rest for your soul. Oasis meets directly across from where we have Sunday morning service. A Shoreline Night of Prayer

Just as we are stronger believers when we are part of a fellowship, churches are stronger when they too move along together in unity. Psalm 133 sings of the power and joy of ALL God's people getting along in fellowship.
On June 9th, SVC along with Living Rock and Christ Chapel will be sponsoring a Shoreline Night of Prayer. All the area churches are welcome as wel come together at that time to lift up our Nation, the Shoreline, and all the churches in the area in prayer. Please consider joining us June 9th at 6 pm at Christ Chapel in Madison.

Alternatively, if you prefer to make your contribution online, you can find a link to our PayPal on the website. There you can choose to make a one-time gift, or if it is more convenient you can set up a recurring gift. You can get to that page directly by clicking here.
