Hello Everyone!
First - a reminder to all of you who may observe Mother's Day that it is THIS Sunday! Honor your mother and father is the first commandment with a promise, which means that God is probably pleased when He sees you do it! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, moms to be, and moms in waiting. You are loved!
Last Sunday we went further into our exploration of the life of Joseph and saw that one of the things that motored Joseph through his pit was the knowledge that God was with him. God is always with us, just as he was for Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, and others! In fact, you can never go where God isn't with you. When you know that He is near, and you truly believe that, you can grab onto the peace that brings while you are in the middle of whatever your trial may be.
It's easy to forget He is with you when you are going through stuff. However, there are things we can do to bring that truth to the front of our mind. It starts with clinging to God's character. Make a list of some of the traits of God you'll find in scripture so that you can speak them aloud so your ears hear you say it. When you understand His character, you understand there is no way He would ever leave us. The second thing you can do is fall into the fellowship. God's presence is in His people. If you've got some stuff you're going through, get with someone else who can stand and pray with you. When Moses got tired in battle he relied on Aaron and Hur to hold his hands up to get the nation through victoriously. Find your Aaron or Hur in the fellowship!
