Father Phil from St. Theresa Catholic Church makes remarks on COVID-19 as a time for introspection and prayer.

Join us this weekend on our physical campus or online for the 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time. Masses held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, 10:00 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

The reconciliation schedule will remain the same during the closure.

The church office will be closed until the City, State, and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Hoston indicate otherwise.

Sunday obligation to attend Mass and Holy Days continues to be suspended.

Live streaming Masses will be on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (CDT) and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (CDT), and they will be available on-demand thereafter.

Marriage Enrichment Conference Together in Holiness

September 26, 2020 - Houston

Together in Holiness will be offered in two locations—Sugar Land and The Woodlands—as well as online! The conference will feature keynote presentations from national speakers Steve and Becky Greene and Danielle Bean, as well as Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Currently, Casa Juan Diego is in need of the following items: vegetable oil, dry chicken broth, white or apple vinegar, dry spices (oregano, dry onion, garlic, thyme, pepper, salt, curry, cumin), soy sauce, baby shampoo, size 5 and 6 diapers for children, adult diapers, wipes, and bed underpants.

Please bring the items to mass and place them in the basket by the altar.

How God Shares Himself with Us

What is “divine revelation”? It’s God’s sharing of himself through Scripture and the Church’s Sacred Tradition. In the Old Testament, God is revealed primarily as Creator, but he remains hidden behind his creation.

Yet in the New Testament, God is no longer completely hidden and is revealed in the person of Jesus Christ, who is fully God and full man. In other words, Jesus Christ is the ultimate form of divine revelation.

We have been working hard to develop a plan for Faith Formation this fall. Please note that there may be changes to our plan due to the risks associated with Covid 19. This year families will have the choice between two options:

Option 1 - Faith Formation on-site at St Theresa. We will meet the second and third Sundays of each month from September – April. We will be following all CDC guidelines. Our Class sizes will be limited to accommodate proper social distancing and we are prepared to move to the Option 2 format as needed.

Option 2 - Families working on Faith Formation lessons at home then meeting virtually with a Catechist and other at Home learning families for family sharing. We will meet the second and third Sundays of each month. Parents will have the option to choose between a traditional printed workbook with digital resources or a digital eBook and resources.

HIGH SCHOOL FAITH FORMATION

Faith Formation Sessions for High School will be held the Second and Third Sundays of the Month from September through April from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which includes attendance and participation at the 5:30 p.m. Sunday Mass.

St Theresa is following state and local government guidelines and direction from the Archdiocese. We are working to ensure a safe learning environment for our youth and catechists and will be following all CDC guidelines. Depending on the circumstances, we are prepared to move all learning online as needed.

Casa Juan Diego is not able to accept used clothing or household goods at this time. Because of the coronavirus, we are having to limit the number of people who come to our doors.

CCSC

The food pantry provides a five-day supply of food for people experiencing hunger or food insecurity. Donations are always welcomed and needed for the food pantry.

You may drop off nonperishable food donations at 3230 Mercer St., Monday-Friday 9 a.m to 2 p.m., or 6856 Bellaire Blvd. Mondays and Tuesdays or Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Every box or can helps, but the pantries are most in need of canned tuna or chicken, boxed cereal, pasta, tomatoes (diced, sauce, etc.), canned vegetables, canned fruit, dry rice, dry beans, toilet paper, bar soap, and bags--paper, plastic or reusable.
