Hello Everyone!
I am happy to report that yesterday, Wednesday I returned home from the hospital. I am so thankful for everyone's support and prayers as I was going through this sickness. I have been continually reminded of our recent series, You'll Get Through This, and very much felt like I was in my own "Egypt". God has been faithful to bring me through this and gave me a church family that covered me in prayer the entire time. I am so very grateful for that. And while I may not have avoided the sickness itself, it seems I did avoid a big surgery. I will be recovering another week at home and look forward to my complete healing from this. It's good to be home, and I am feeling well. One more giant thank you to all of you who have been praying for me and my family. God has heard our prayers and is awesome! He always is.

THIS SUNDAY: Your Best Thinking
Our thinking determines our outcome more than anything else. Our actions, attitudes, and self-awareness all flow from the way we think, and as a result influence everything we do. Real change ultimately means thinking differently. Nothing will change until we think differently.
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to “take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.” So what does that mean? How do you do that? What stands in the way? And what could happen if we do that and align ourselves only with the truth? Come see what this all means as Eileen Cramer brings us this week's message!

Sharing in the joys and challenges of life with other people who care for us leads to a rich experience in our journey with God. We get to practice what God is teaching us with others who will listen, challenge, and nurture us. We get to practice new skills, use our talents and gifts, and serve people in our community with others who we know and trust. Life groups are great ways to connect with others in the church as well as a way to create a comfortable environment for you to invite friends who may not be comfortable yet with showing up on a Sunday morning. Great relationships make life better and richer! Check out one of our Life Groups for yourself and experience the difference relationships make.
We are now looking for Life Groups to kick off with new subjects! This is a great time to start a new group and dig into something you may have been wanting to study for some time.
Do you have an idea for a Life Group? It all starts with PASSION! What gets you excited and what do you enjoy doing? Whatever it is, it's usually even more enjoyable when it is done with others. Life Groups are all about getting together and building relationships. The groups don't need to center around a Bible or book study. For ideas or help, please contact Shadi.

Gisele will be running a class at the Community Center that will focus on Low-Impact cardio movement with strengthening and toning exercises using hand weights, bands, body bars, rings, mats, and more - which will all be provided! All the music will be Christ-centered too!

International Hosting Opportunity
Two girls from Germany who attend Vineyard churches there have requested if anyone might be interested in hosting them for a few days during their trip to the United States. The dates are August 12th through August 14th and additional information as well contact information is in the attached letter from the girls.

Many of us enjoy a cup of coffee as we meet and greet with our church family. Maybe you even need a cup just to stay awake during the message! Whatever the reason, right now we are down to one or two people that come in a little bit early so that it can be ready for service. We could use some help! If you can get to church 15 minutes early and help with making the coffee, would you please see Catherine Rampone? Thank you!

Pastor Chris was sent to the hospital last Tuesday for emergency surgery after a scan revealed a perforation in his large intestine. Many people prayed and by the time he was rescanned in the hospital, they found that the initial repair had already been made and that all that remained was to rid the body of the infection and allow the healing to continue and finish up. Thank you, Lord!

Our next men's breakfast is Saturday, July 20th at Denny's in Westbrook. This is a great time to just casually get together with the other men in the church and catch up and enjoy a great meal. THRIVE - Youth Ministry
Thrive is a group for junior and senior high students. An atmosphere where literally anybody and everybody can come and feel included, loved, and heard. The focus is on helping young people learn how to connect with Jesus in a deeper and more personal way. They regularly tackle some very tough topics that are current in our world today.
THRIVE meets every Wednesday at the Parish Center located in Village Walk, in Guilford. 6:30 - 8:30. For more information contact JJ Secki at 203.645.4054.

The name is derived from Revelation 5:8, describing heavenly creatures which each had harps and held golden bowls full of incense (which are the prayers of the saints.) Harp and bowl, soaking Praise and Prayer in an intimate setting, finding rest for your soul. Oasis meets in the Leete room down the hall from where we have our Sunday morning service. One of the missions that SVC supports monthly is Love146. The mission of Love146 is to end child sex trafficking and slavery - specifically in Connecticut. Love146 has its offices in New Haven and is requesting volunteers to help in the New Haven office. If you are interested in serving this ministry, please respond by clicking HERE.
Also, mark your calendars - Love146 will be sharing with our fellowship on Sunday, August 4th in our morning worship service.

At SVC we don't have a special time in the service set aside for collecting tithes and offerings. At a table located at the entrance door, you will find a small box with a cross cutout on the top. Please place your tithes and offerings in this box. There are now envelopes that will be alongside the box that will allow you to designate how you may like your gift applied, or for you to receive a giving statement for cash donations. Please feel free to add your name to your gift, or to designate it toward Tithes and offerings, Missions, or our new Building Fund.
Alternatively, if you prefer to make your contribution online, you can find a link to our PayPal on the website. There you can choose to make a one-time gift, or if it is more convenient you can set up a recurring gift. You can get to that page directly by clicking here.
