I hope you enjoyed the at home session last week called “One God.” I would love to hear some of the different names you came up with to call God. Share them with me, along with some pictures of your prayer space and/or your family working together. I will be displaying our families growing in faith together in the Narthex.
This week’s lesson is called “In the Beginning” and will focus on, you guessed it, the Genesis story of creation and Adam and Eve. I thought the introductory paragraph offered some hope in these troubling times - here it is:
“While the creation story found in Genesis may not be a scientific or historical account of how the universe began, it does tell us the truth about creation. This beautiful narrative tells us that God is our Creator, the grand designer of all the universe. God is the source and end of all that is. In addition, it also lets us know that everything God made is good, including us. As we read about God’s divine power, we realize that even though evil entered the world, things are not hopeless. If God is able to create a universe that is totally good, God is also capable of restoring that goodness.”
The idea that God made us good is so fundamental to our faith. Not only should we see ourselves as beloved children of God, but we also need to treat all others as such. Even our enemies! This lesson is also a good reason to go on a nature walk, spend some time star gazing, or go check out the colors in the mountains! What riches God has given us!
If you still haven’t picked up your packet with these materials, I will again be outside the narthex on Sunday after the 8 am Mass and before and after the 11 am Mass.
Remember that our Mass times have changed to Saturday @ 4 and Sunday @ 8 & 11. Here's the links for Mass online:

Here is the song the kids learned at the first class - play it as a family and see if your kids remember the hand motions!
