New Look, Same Vibrant Mission Our new visual identity quickly and clearly communicates the unity of our ministries as we all work to share our founder Father Patrick Peyton’s message, “The family that prays together stays together.” Our own journey continues with this major relaunch as we look to the future of serving the spiritual needs of families. We are working to ensure we can help families pray and deepen their spiritual lives by welcoming Catholic Mom, creating the Museum

Holy Cross Family Ministries joyfully introduces our new visual identity. We embrace our new image as a symbol of our ongoing growth and development.

Growing and Changing Like the Families We Serve Over the years, Holy Cross Family Ministries has created new ministries and welcomed others in our efforts to serve contemporary families more effectively. To better reflect our inner growth, our family of ministries has a new look and feel and, more importantly, many new relevant ways to help families pray. Holy Cross Family Ministries is a complex, multi-faceted community of ministries serving families in a variety of ways. As a result, some families we serve have been confused about who we are, which ministries are part of our family, and what our mission is. It’s important to us that all our friends and collaborators come to see and experience the unity among all our ministries. This striking and modern visual identity clearly reflects this unity. We are confident all families will be strengthened and experience this unity in the reliable and enriching resources we provide to help them pray as a family.

We Help Families Pray The new visual identity is based on two key elements of the Holy Cross Family Ministries’ core mission, we help families pray: FAMILY

Holy Cross Family Ministries is all about Family. This refers to individual families as well as the universal family of faith—people of all ages, from all ethnic backgrounds, races, cultures, and a diversity of languages from all over the world.

ROSARY

Family Prayer is centered on the Rosary. The Rosary is the common bond and the continuous thread that connects and brings people together in prayer regardless of language and distance.

The Symbol’s Multifaceted Meaning Created by the internationally acclaimed firm, Malcolm Grear Designers, the symbol is intentionally designed to have a depth of substance — the symbol does not exhaust its meaning at first glance. As you can see, the design is focused on the unit of the 10 beads of the Rosary, representing “totality” and “unity” — bringing the great variety of family members together in prayer. The symbol grows out of this set of 10 beads, linked together as a family of prayer. Each bead symbolizes the family member in the position or “gesture” of prayer, each individual member contributing to the whole. The symbol is also designed to express a floral character, calling to mind the Rose, Lily, and Iris— flowers that are symbolic of the Virgin Mary. This reference also suggests purity, growth, and peace. The center white space of the symbol is drawn such that it creates an optical phenomenon that seems to emit light. This refers to the symbolism of the “moon” and combined with the color blue or gold, creates a strong visual connection to Mary. By design the symbol radiates and reaches outward giving a sense of welcome and invitation. The careful delineation of form and space also suggests the sense of mystery that is associated with the work of the Holy Spirit. Each time the visual identity is seen, one can find and appreciate new meaning in it, while at the same time it is distinctly recognizable and visually strong.
