Dr. Michael Barber is Associate Professor of Theology and Scripture at the Augustine Institute. He has authored scholarly articles for academic journals (including Journal of Biblical Literature and Letter & Spirit) and has published popular level books on the Psalms and the Apocalypse. He contributed the Catholic perspective to Four Views on the Role of Works at the Final Judgment (Zondervan Academic), co-authored by James D. G. Dunn, Thomas R. Schreiner, and Robert N. Wilkin and edited by Alan Stanley. Most recently he has published Salvation: What Every Catholic Should Know (Augustine Institute) and, along with co-authors Brant Pitre and John Kincaid, Paul, a New Covenant Jew: Rethinking Pauline Theology (Eerdmans).

Dr. Barber received his Ph.D. at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, where he wrote a dissertation under Colin Brown, entitled, The Historical Jesus and Cultic Restoration Eschatology: The New Temple, the New Priesthood and the New Cult, which focused on bridging the fields of the study of the Historical Jesus of the Synoptic Gospels with Sacramental Theology and Eschatology. It is currently being revised for publication.

Dr. Barber is a regular on the Catholic speaking circuit, speaking at conferences and parish missions. He resides in San Diego, CA, with his wife, Kimberly. They have four children.
