About the Author

Paul Kengor, PhD, is the New York Times bestselling author of God and Ronald Reagan, The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism, 11 Principles of a Reagan Conservative, Dupes, The Communist, and other books. A professor of political science and the executive director of the Center for Vision and Values at Grove City College, he has written for a range of popular and scholarly publications, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, National Review, Political Science Quarterly, Christianity Today, the National Catholic Register, and the National Catholic Reporter. An excellent portrayal of these two leaders and the roles that they played. Together they acted out one of the most fascinating of missions: the taking down of Communism! As hindsight is 20/20, it is easy to see that this may have been no accident, but as the title suggests: The Divine Plan. See also this The Divine Plan documentary film (see picture) which tells the story nicely and fits in perfectly with two others focused on the same subject, but with John Paul II alone, Nine Days That Changed the World and Liberating a Continent: John Paul II and the Fall of Communism . Both, with The Divine Plan, are highly recommended!

A great story. It will remind those uf us who were "participants" in the cold war era of many events and will add more knowledge to a few we thought we knew about. Another book includes the third great Cold Warrior, "The Iron Lady", but this book concentrates on Pope JPll and President Regan. Whether young or old, the reader will gain an insight to history, and a greater appreciation for the freedom the world knows today.
